mid century trash to treasure end table

After a few weeks of priming, painting, sanding, painting, sanding, painting,  and transposing, and painting once more...I have finally finished one of those mid-century end tables.  I frequently peruse a couple of the thrift stores in town  looking for "treasures". I stumbled upon these two little beauties for $3.99 a piece--they were a little dingy and a little bit wiggly so I didn't pick them up at first.  The moment I got home I questioned my sanity. $3.99!!?? the legs alone could have been used for something else-right? The next day I went back for them. When I walked in I noticed that they were being "showcased" in the front of the store flanking a well worn sofa. There was a woman sitting on the sofa, and I was afraid she may have bought the whole ensemble.   I asked her  if she had bought the set, thankfully she said no, she was only interested in the couch. I was thrilled, and she seemed happy that I was so happy. She asked what I was going to do with them and I told her that I would probably paint them or something, but I wasn't sure yet.   She said, "I just love watching those shows on the 61, (HGTV), they do such fun things. You look like you do fun things." I thanked her for the compliment. Afterward I thought that I needed to live up to the Couch Lady's expectations. Fun things it is.  iPhone users click here
