when do you call it?
I'm still working on the same woodblock print. I've patched, sanded, printed and decided to carve out a whole lot more. I'm not yet at the stage of love/hate, but I'm getting there. There is something missing that I can't put my finger on, beyond the most obvious, that the carving is reversed in print form. I keep going back to standing on that beach staring up at that massive rock, and now the print--the horizontal perspective, no matter how much I tilt my head or squint my eyes is opposite. If only I remembered to reverse the carving! I pretend at first that I'm pushing myself to see differently, but the truth is that I simply forgot that step. I'll fight myself a little longer on this one, because I like it more than not.
